The Democratic Party is the party of inclusion, but just including people isn’t enough, we seek to make opportunities for people to be directly involved.  Our party was founded on the conviction that wealth and privilege shouldn’t be an entitlement to rule and the belief that the values of hardworking families are the values that should guide us.  People are disillusioned with the Republican party and can’t identify with their misguided need to provide tax relief for top earners only.  The Republican party has forgotten the people and are beholden to their large campaign donors.  The presence of dark money in the political process has removed the voice of the people.

We have a vision for using the party committee structure as it was designed, to help bridge the gap between the people and the party and make the government more agile & effective.  We want to reinvigorate progressive politics right in the heart & center of the Driftless Area.

Some of us have been involved with campaigns before, and are dismayed with how few people are concerned with the importance of local government to their day-to-day lives, or with the difficulty in (and thus lack of) ongoing communication between the people and the government. Some of us are new to political action but are active in our communities in our own ways.
